Annie (Kessler) Anwander, a 2016 graduate of 成人快手 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Mathematics, left a remarkable legacy in OU athletics through her excellence in soccer and track.
A four-year standout on the soccer field from 2012 to 2015, Annie earned multiple All-KCAC honors, including First Team selections in 2014 and 2015, and was named KCAC Defensive Player of the Year both years. She was a two-time NAIA All-American Honorable Mention and received prestigious academic accolades, including being named the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year for College Division Women’s Soccer. Annie helped lead the Braves to KCAC Tournament championships in 2013 and 2014, and a regular season title in 2015, along with two national tournament appearances.
In addition to her soccer success, Annie competed in indoor and outdoor track from 2013 to 2016. She earned All-KCAC honors in events such as the 400-meter hurdles and relays, and was a multi-year Daktronics Scholar-Athlete. She also received the Champion of Character Award in 2014 for outdoor track.
Following her time at Ottawa, Annie went on to earn her M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine Residency and Maternity Care Fellowship at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She currently practices as a Family Medicine Physician.
She lives in Hiawatha, Kansas, with her wife, Monica, and their two sons, Ellis and Adler.
